FretMap is a free tool for teaching guitar scales, chords, arpeggios and songs using an interactive guitar fretboard.
The application is built using React, NextJS, tRPC and NextAuth and allows users to quickly select their root note, scale, chord, or arpeggio, and get playing.
Users can use the patterns and information provided to play unaccompanied, or if they prefer, they can play along with FretMap while it generates sounds and note highlighting on the fly. This is useful for committing the patterns to memory, helping you be more creative across the fretboard when playing solo or with others.
Fretmap.app is also made as a Progressive Web App, so it can be installed onto your device and used like a regular native app. Also, Fretmap’s sound is generated by the excellent Tone.js library
