Otee - Phaser Game

Otee - Phaser Game

Otee is my first (and hopefully not last) foray into the world of game development.

Inspired by the likes of Indie Game: The Movie and Noclip, I’ve been meaning to try my hand at creating my own game for a long time, though I’d usually talk myself out of it by thinking the learning curve would be bit too steep.

Luckily the Phaser library gives a huge amount of help in getting a basic game up and running, taking care of a lot of the physics and general heavy lifting.

The basic premise of Otee is to ‘Dodge, Deceive, and Don’t Die’ – your character is controlled by simple keyboard commands (though hopefully touch-screen support will be added in the future) to navigate your way through a maze-like level which is always moving forward. You’ll have to avoid hitting the walls, and also avoid the enemies littered throughout the game. Luckily though, there’s a few power-ups and shortcuts to help you out.

NOTE:

The game is still in active development, and therefore buggy as hell, but if you’d like to play and see the progress I make, please jump right in and have a go.

Also, don’t forget to let me know your high score!
